On June 28, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Vice Chairman of The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity sent a letter to all 50 states asking a series of questions soliciting feedback about election administration, voter fraud and the integrity of the process. In addition, the letter requests that states turn over sensitive voter information (including your social security number, voting record, and any criminal history) to the commission for review.

To date, 27 state officials have come out in strong opposition to the request.  Many – including the Native American Rights Fund – are concerned and believe the letter is further evidence of the Trump White House agenda to influence our electoral system, and many like Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, dismissed the request as “politically motivated and silly posturing.”   “I have no intention of honoring this request,” Gov. McAuliffe, went on to state, “Virginia conducts fair, honest, and democratic elections, and there is no evidence of significant voter fraud in Virginia. This entire commission is based on the specious and false notion that there was widespread voter fraud last November. At best this commission was set up as a pretext to validate Donald Trump’s alternative election facts, and at worst is a tool to commit large-scale voter suppression.” Even more concerning is Secretary Kobach being named Vice Chairman of this Commission. Secretary Kobach has a lengthy track record of illegally disenfranchising eligible voters in Kansas and has himself been fined by courts for wrongly withholding evidence.

Many other state officials have expressed similar views.  We too, agree with Governor McAuliffe.  Our freedoms and precious right to privacy as Americans are once again being threatened by an Administration with an all too obvious agenda: find out where voters that do not support them are, and target those groups.

”After the Supreme Court took away the voter protections in the Shelby County case, we have seen an increase in voter suppression,” said NARF attorney Natalie Landreth. “In fact, in order to address all the various and increasing methods of voter suppression, NARF created the Native American Voting Rights Coalition.  We will be responding to this ironically named Election Integrity Commission by holding field hearings of our own to highlight all the problems indigenous voters still face.”

On this 4th of July, week, the Native American Rights Fund is calling on all real American patriots to take a stand against tyranny and oppression by taking immediate action to protect your liberty as free thinking Americans!! Write and /or call your own Secretaries of State and Lieutenant Governors and ask them to refuse to cooperate with this commission. Do not wait!  Freedom Is Not Free!!!
