This week, NARF Staff Attorney Heather Whiteman Runs Him is in Geneva, Switzerland, attending the Ninth Session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP). Heather addressed the EMRIP and member states this week urging the United Nations to adopt provisions that would provide for indigenous peoples’ representative institutions’ participation in the United Nations system, and to take action towards implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
