NATIONALLY KNOWN ARTISTS PRESLEY LAFOUNTAIN, KEVIN RED STAR AND STAN NATCHEZ JOIN THE NATIVE
AMERICAN RIGHTS FUND (NARF) IN THE 1st ANNUAL "VISIONS FOR THE FUTURE"
BOULDER, CO – Nationally known artists Kevin Red Star, Stan Natchez and Presley
LaFountain have recently joined other artists participating in NARF's
first annual "Visions for the Future" benefit art auction.
The auction will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the Hotel Santa
Fe on August 15th. These artists will split the proceeds
from the sale of their pieces between NARF and Presley LaFountain.
NARF's proceeds will be used to continue the organization's
struggle for justice on behalf of Native Americans throughout the
country. LaFountain's portion will help with medical expenses
incurred since his recent severe injury. LaFountain suffered stretched
ligaments and tendons in his right arm and severe injuries to his
legs after being purposely drug from a car after a confrontation
in Santa Fe. Despite his injuries, the Santa Fe New Mexican recently
quoted him as saying, "I'm never going to stop doing my
art." Still hospitalized in Santa Fe, LaFountain remains optimistic
and focused on regaining the physical strength necessary to continue
his career as an internationally-known artist.
NARF would like to express our appreciation to artists, guests
and contributors for their support of this new fundraising endeavor.
NARF Director of Development, Mary Lu Prosser, stated, "The
success of this event will be especially gratifying. Not only will
it help our organization continue the struggle for justice for our
people, it will also give us an opportunity to return some of LaFountain's
support and generosity. We are very honored to be able to assist
him."
All of us at NARF wish LaFountain a complete and speedy recovery.
We hope this event will significantly assist him in his time of
need. If you would like to make a contribution to Presley LaFountain's
medical fund please send it to Del Norte Credit Union at 403 West
Cordova Road in Santa Fe, NM. Please make checks out to "Presley
LaFountain Medical Fund."
