Yankton Sioux Tribal Code

PREAMBLE

This Law and Order Code for the Yankton Sioux Tribe of the Yankton Sioux Indian Reservation is established for the purposes of further reinforcing and strengthening Tribal self-government as provided for in the 1858 "Treaty with the Yankton Sioux", 11 Stat. 743; providing for the judicial needs of the Reservation; and assuring the maintenance of law and order on the Reservation.
