New Legal Review Features Agua Caliente Water Rights Case
NARF’s client, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuila Indians and their ancestors have been in Coachella Valley, California, since time immemorial. For years, the Tribe has been fighting to protect the Coachella Valley aquifer from overuse and mismanagement. In a recent ruling, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the Tribe’s reserved right to groundwater, handing a significant victory to the Tribe.
